Actually, this isn't what 'newer' monks run. A new monk would probably run some crap build with Healing Breeze and no prot skills.
More like, ^^^ that build is what a decent monk would run.
To be honest, in FoW I wouldn't even bother with condi removal, and would just go with 2 hex removals.

PS - Bonders are terrible

So would I if FoW was hard enough to warrant any effort on my part to change my normal template

Agreed.

2nd hex removal in FoW... Remove Hex for the greater volume of hexes removed, or Holy Veil to keep stuff doing nothing besides casting Empathy/Deep Freeze/SS on the poor sap taking inital aggro for the first 6 seconds of battle?

Discuss.

I'd say about 85-90% of the mobs in FoW have enchantment removal. In the Wailing Lord's forest, Nature's Renewal.

Which basically makes bonders, and a pre-veil, this useful:

Good times, I loved taking 100 damage to build Dragon Slash a little faster!

Tbh, I really don't see the point in it for FoW. There's not enough dispersed-AoE type damage or mass party-wide degen that needs to be mopped up by the uber-Heal Party offered by HB; and in truth - the uber-Heal Party is the only worthwhile thing you get from HB (at the expense of a lot of free slots)
Or if you run many physicals that don't call SS and attack through it, and ball up.

I second taking 2 good monk builds, WoH on one fo sho. 2 copies of Aegis and assorted prots and you should be good to go.

Never had a problem with any area in NM or HM. I either run 2 copies of the word of healing monk, or the word monk on a hero and i take the hb monk. (hench suck with heal party spam) If i do run the woh on a healer monk, I swap rof for Sig of Rejuve though. They do well with it.

Really when doing FoW, I would bring extra hex removal because hexes there are the most problematic, namely the Iron Mist and Spiteful Spirit. Everything else can be countered with normally used monk skills

However since I like brining dual Paragons with me, I give Morghan Expel Hexes and thus I have little to change for the monks

my typical setup I bring into areas (if its just me and another person) is the monks I posted, a Broad Head Arrow ranger, 2 gons (one sor, one cruel spear), expel rit, ss/barbs/blood rit necro and whatever else in the last spot that whoever comes along is playing.

If in a human team, that all depends on the group.
